Pat Redhead, Professional Development Evaluation, Edmonton Public Schools

Pat Redhead has been a technology integration consultant with Edmonton Public Schools for 15 years. She was instrumental in creating Edmonton Public Schools' MicroCentre, a site for workshops and for preview of educational software. She initiated the elementary Peer Tutor Project, a workshop model in which computer coordinators increase their knowledge and skills about educational computing. She coordinated the Technology Incentive Program in which teachers participate in a two-week summer workshop and then borrow the computer for the year. She developed and coordinated Project Pegasus in which teachers conduct action research to explore the question, "How does computer technology improve student learning?" Pat coordinated the District Technology Plan for Edmonton Public Schools for three years and in that role worked with many staff to develop a common vision and plan for technology in the district. In 1997-98, Pat worked with the six provincial PD consortia as the project leader to develop Teaching and Learning with Technology, a new PD model for assisting teachers in using technology across the curriculum.
