Michel Savoie, CRC
Mr. J. Michel Savoie is the Research Program Manager of the Broadband Applications and Optical networking group at the Communications Research Centre located in Ottawa. Mr. Savoie oversees the operation of two facilities: the Applications and Demonstration Laboratory (BADLAB) and the Optical Networking Laboratory (ONL).
These facilities are used to develop, test and demonstrate integrated communications systems comprising fibre-optics, satcom and wireless. They house advanced protocols, services and technologies testbeds which are used to evaluate and demonstrate new broadband applications and services in support of Industry Canada's Connectedness Agenda.
Mr. Savoie possesses experience in high-speed networks including Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), broadband IP technologies, optical networking technologies including Wavelength Division Multiplexing, interoperability of ATM networks and interactive multimedia applications.
