Eric Tsang, Associate Director, Marketing, Communications Research Centre Canada
Eric K. Tsang received his Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois Institute of Technology and Master of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Waterloo. He joined the Communications Research Centre (CRC) in 1981 and was responsible for satellite earth stations and applications development. Mr. Tsang was the Program Manager of the Communications Applications Program in the late eighties and was responsible for development of world class tele-education and tele-health applications. In 1992, Mr. Tsang established the Business Development Office at CRC. Currently, he is the Associate Director of Business Development. His responsibility includes new business initiatives, establishing strategic partnerships, marketing, promotion and broadband applications development of new and emerging communications technologies. Mr. Tsang developed the CRC's BADLAB, Broadband Applications and Demonstration Lab, which is used for broadband applications development and interoperability testing. In 1996, he established the VirtualClassroom program which was accepted as one of the G-7 Information Society projects. Prior to joining CRC, he held engineering positions with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and Telesat Canada.
